It is indeed almost time to panic with 29,000,000 Americans who will run out of unemployment in next 3-5 months.
it nice to see people actually talking the truth. the news full of BS in the states stating the housing market getting better lol. that banks stable lol. i even see new jack realtors on youtube trying to sell housing telling people know the time to buy.. lol its getting bad when new jacks trying to find suckers. lol. im buying nothing!!!!!

Instead of reasonable attention I really meant constructive attention.
This pervasive fear which means having no way to work with a threat. (other than stocking up etc.).

Just as I stink at cards, how snakes work the economy & finding spectacularly sociopathic ways to create misery to those attempting to have a life…that sort of money & history unfolding in vicious ways because of them, and the way they are grabbing yours & mine & everyone else’s otherwise reasonable attention

This is also what I see. Most people think they work so hard but they really are like hamsters in a cage, they do not produce ANYTHING. The service economy is a sham and one of the reasons the west is collapsing. We forgot what actually created value.

No I still have my job, going on 31 years, should have been able to retire at 32 but that not gonna happen now thanks to the RETHUGS as you so aptly put it. I Live in Texas but one might consider it South if not east. Actually the whipsnap of dramatically rising and then collapsing commodity prices has been used to collapse local economies and now on a global scale. It has been done many times if you study history, guaranteed to crash!

This I’ll tell you: before Reagan was nominated I had a nightmare about a narrow dirt path w/Reagan, Nancy followed by an elephant followed by an entourage of rethugs.High walls w/glass shards embedded on top running alongside. Nice, huh.

I dont like twisting or making up figures to prove a point that is false. You can google any number of websites that have historical unemployment data going back decades. I also remember those times, I do remember people marching in the streets in the early 80’s after they were thrown out of work once Reagan had killed the unions. During the 1980’s over 600K in my state lost their jobs and we went through a depression here that didnt let up until 1990. I know many who lost everything.
I remember distinctly hearing that during Carter’s term. I stand by my comment.
Who knows, maybe the BLS adjusted their #s since.

Actually you are not correct. The highest Unemployment rate in the period between 1976 and 1980 was 7.9% in Jan 1976. Dec 1980 unemployment was 7.2. Unemployment PEAKED at over 10% in the last quarter of 1982 and first quarter of 1983 well into the Reagan administration. In Houston in the mid 1980s we had what wre called “See Through Sky Scrapers” These were multi story building in downtown which were never finished. they had the Glass skin but no walls withing and you could literally see from one side to the other. Apartment building also were sold at auction. Not always were tenants evicted, in fact one of the best selling points was the percent of occupation of the Apartment complex.

I would not buy anywhere right now. Unless I had $2 million cash put away producing interest to live on, I’d wait a bit until prices came all the way down, even in beautiful Paris.

Correction: the avg # of troops reported killed is approx 20 per month which comes out consistently EVERY YEAR since 2003 as 1000 per year.
During the Carter years ‘76-’80 unemployment was 13%, coincidentally w/a major gas shortage (long lines).
This time around seems the routine Reported #s are maybe 38% of true unemploy #s. C’mon!
FYI troop casualty wkly report ALWAYS 4-5/wk, which avgs 1000/yr.
Not a peep out of anyone how artificial these #s are!! Even those who should know better!
